Brittany Mangrum, CFP®
Associate Financial Planner
Brittany joined Klein Financial Advisors in early 2019. A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), she has a clear passion for educating clients and helping them make smart decisions that support a lifetime of financial confidence.
Brittany’s drive to help people gain control of their financial lives is, at least in part, the result of losing her mother at just 16 years old. After spending the following months helping her father get the family’s financial affairs in order, she saw first hand the vital role of smart planning, as well as how having a comprehensive plan can boost your confidence moving forward. Ever since, she has wanted to help others take the necessary steps to build a solid financial foundation and begin planning for the future as early as possible.
Brittany’s mother’s biggest wish was that she pursue a strong education. Brittany did not let her down. She graduated from high school at age 16 and went straight to college where she earned a bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in financial planning, as well as a master’s degree in taxation from Cal State Northridge. Her CFP designation is icing on the cake. She is also an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Orange County.
Though she interacts with all of our clients, as a bona fide Millennial, Brittany brings a fresh, new perspective on all things financial that is particularly appreciated by our younger clients. One of her proudest accomplishments at her prior firm was educating her co-workers about their company-sponsored 401(k) plan—which they’d had access to for years but did not understand—and creating a huge wave of participation! Her passion for financial planning is infectious.
Whether Brittany’s energy comes from her 13 years as a cheerleader, her spirit as a huge sports fan, her enthusiasm for staying active (she hikes, paddleboards, and participates in high-intensity interval training, just for starters), or something else entirely, one thing is clear: Brittany loves cheering people on and encouraging success. We’re thrilled to have her on our home team!
Gail A. Hicks, CFP®, MBA®
Senior Financial Advisor
Gail joined Klein Financial Advisors in early 2016 as a culmination of her successful and somewhat unexpected career in financial services. She earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation when women were new to the profession, and she has been committed to empowering people with the financial education they need to achieve greater financial confidence and security ever since.
After her mother’s death when Gail was just 13 years old, she was expected to manage her family’s household from top to bottom, and she quickly learned the importance of understanding money. Luckily, the Social Security benefits she received from her mother’s death helped fund her education. After stumbling into an opportunity at her uncle’s investment practice, she was surprised by the lack of financial knowledge in her clients. From senior executives and college grads, to widows and non-earning spouses, she saw so many individuals who didn’t participate in financial decisions and had no idea how to build and sustain wealth. Today, Gail’s passion is to provide her clients with the financial, saving, and investing knowledge to make informed decisions about every aspect of their financial lives.
In addition to her CFP® designation, Gail holds an MBA® from California State University Fullerton, as well as a Series 66 securities license and a California Insurance License for life, accident and health. (CA Insurance #0708682). Over the course of her long career, Gail served as an equity partner at The Ayco Company, L.P., a Goldman Sachs Company, working with high net worth individuals and senior Fortune 500 executives, and as an independent financial and tax advisor counseling individuals and small business owners in the areas of tax and investment planning, portfolio construction, retirement planning, estate planning, and wealth preservation.
An active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Orange County, Gail lives in Trabuco Canyon, California, with her husband Dale and their three (very active) boys.
